After receiving his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Colorado, Dr. Elton completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and his foot and ankle fellowship at the Harvard Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Dr. Elton specializes in physiologically complicated foot and ankle surgery and handles the full spectrum of foot and ankle disorders.
He is experienced in treating sports injuries and fractures, nerve and tendon disorders, deformities and chronic pain, and only recommends surgical intervention when other treatments have not been successful. Dr. Elton continues to work with Harvard Brigham Hospital, where he most recently researched techniques for limited open Achilles tendon repair with ring forceps in the foot and ankle in October 2010. Dr. Elton has received numerous recognitions, including the Henry J. Tumen Research Fellowship, the Outstanding Research Poster Presentation from the UCHSC Student Research Forum and the WSMRF Subspecialty Award. He has also published various articles.
Dr. Elton loves being back in Colorado and enjoys camping and hiking with his wife and two children. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Elton also enjoys cycling, skiing and snowboarding.
