Dr. Joseph received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. After spending five years in New Orleans, where he completed his residency at the Charity Hospital, Dr. Joseph moved to New Zealand to do a specialty fellowship training in arthroscopic knee surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Joseph also completed a fellowship in upper extremity and hand surgery in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Joseph specializes in hand, wrist, knee and fracture surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His orthopaedic interests include ACL reconstruction, arthroscopic meniscus surgery and ski and snowboard trauma. Dr. Joseph is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and is affiliated with the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Medical Association, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is also a member of the Knee Society.
Dr. Joseph worked in Vail as an emergency room technician when he was 22 and returned to Vail in 2006 as an orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Joseph and his wife enjoy raising their two children in the mountains. In addition to paddling whitewater, breeding Labrador retrievers, and making stained glass, Dr. Joseph is also involved with Children's Garden of Learning and Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District.
